Migrate from FontExplorer X

This guide explains how to migrate your fonts and font sets from FontExplorer X to RightFont.

Import fonts from FontExplorer X

  1. Open RightFont on your Mac and create a new font library.
  2. Import your FontExplorer X font files into the new library.
  3. Locate your FontExplorer X database file (.fexdb) and drag it into the RightFont library.

RightFont will automatically import the font sets from the FontExplorer X database and recreate them in your library, allowing you to continue organizing and managing your fonts seamlessly.

Find the FontExplorer X Database File

The FontExplorer X database file is usually located in:

~/Library/Application Support/Linotype/FontExplorer X/

or

~/Library/Application Support/FontExplorer X/

To quickly open the folder in Finder:

  1. In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder… from the menu bar.
  2. Paste the path above and press Return.
  3. Locate the .fexdb file and drag it into RightFont.
